The suspect was identified as 𝟏𝟗-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐞.Following a thorough investigation, detectives established probable cause to arrest Coe for one count of Sexual Battery. He was additionally charged with Obstruction without Violence after fleeing upon seeing law enforcement. "I am incredibly proud of the Violent Crimes Unit's hard work that led to the arrest of these violent criminals," stated Sheriff Carmine Marceno. "With help from the Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, our analysts, and the Fugitive Warrant Unit, my detectives were able to quickly identify and locate the suspects involved. I always stress — see it, say it, make the call. The tips we received regarding this incident were a crucial part of bringing justice to the victim." On Friday, July 4th, 5th Precinct Deputies responded to Miscue Lounge after learning of a shooting that just occurred. Deputies immediately began to secure the scene, and due to the nature of the crime, our Violent Crimes Unit responded and assumed control of the investigation.After reviewing surveillance, detectives learned the suspects parked at the Miscue Lounge, proceeded to enter and exit the building, and eventually started an altercation that led to the victim being shot. Following the shooting, both suspects fled the scene.Through continued investigative techniques, detectives worked to identify the two suspects involved. With the help of SWFL Crime Stoppers, the suspects were identified as Johnny Ward (DOB: 12/27/1995) and Jose Copland (DOB: 9/9/1996).The Fugitive Warrants Unit located both Copland and Ward, taking them into custody.Based on the investigation in its totality, detectives established probable cause to arrest Ward for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. 𝙀𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙘 𝘾𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩 𝘼𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙨 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙘𝙠 𝙁𝙧𝙖𝙪𝙙 𝘼𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙩 Last week, deputies responded to the Regions Bank on US-41 following a report of a woman attempting to deposit several suspicious checks into an account that was already flagged for fraudulent activity. Upon arrival, deputies detained the individual, and our Economic Crimes Unit arrived on scene to assume the investigation. Detectives identified the suspect as 20-year-old 𝙎𝙩𝙚𝙥𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙚 𝘼𝙜𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙧𝙖 𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙙𝙖.It was learned that Mosqueda had attempted to deposit similar checks at multiple Regions Bank locations earlier that same day. At each location, she would leave abruptly when asked to provide identification. The checks in question were made out to various individuals, all issued from a company with a listed address in Tampa. Detectives contacted the company named on the checks, who stated that they are based outside of Florida and have no ties to Tampa. The company’s financial manager also verified that none of the names listed on the fraudulent checks were known to them.
