Community Response Unit (CRU)

Our Community Response Unit (CRU) was created to solve problems that arise in the community. CRU focuses on establishing and maintaining direct community contacts to foster grassroots partnerships to address and resolve quality of life issues.

The five branches of CRU are Community Outreach, Community Policing, Crime Prevention, Construction Special Investigations and Animal Cruelty Task Force.

Crime Prevention focuses on educating and training our community through programs, partnerships and initiatives. Community Policing establishes community safety teams at providing service and support through interaction and effective communication with homeownersโ€™ associations.

The Lee County Sheriffโ€™s Office 1st Precinct embraced the season of giving this year, working to bring comfort to local families as the culmination of the "Shop with a Cop" event. Precinct members coordinated the delivery of 10 complete bed setups including mattresses, box springs, frames, sheets, and comforters to youth in need throughout the community. This effort was made possible through a partnership with Mattress Firm. Senior Store Manager Ashley Zazwirsky spearheaded the donation request, working quickly to assist the LCSO in securing the inventory. Her swift action ensured the precinct could get these donations directly on-site and into the homes of families in the 1st Precinct.#CommunityInAction๐Ÿค๐ŸŽ ... See MoreSee Less
