


Lieutenant Sarah Rodriguez
Lieutenant Sarah Rodriguez joined the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in 2012, beginning her career as a deputy assigned to Road Patrol in the 4th Precinct. She later served in the Bonita Springs Community Policing Unit.
In 2017, Lieutenant Rodriguez became a detective in the 5th Precinct Crime Section, where she investigated property crimes. Shortly thereafter, she transferred to Major Crimes and served as the Field Training Officer for the Homicide Unit, where she was responsible for training newly assigned homicide detectives.
Lieutenant Rodriguez was promoted to Sergeant in July 2020 and was assigned to the Bonita Springs Community Policing Unit before returning to Major Crimes to supervise the Special Victims Unit. She has also served in supervisory roles within both the Economic Crimes and Forensics units.
In July 2023, Lieutenant Rodriguez joined the Public Information Office and was promoted to Lieutenant in January 2026. She currently oversees the agency’s social media platforms.
Originally from Broward County, Lieutenant Rodriguez grew up in Coral Springs before relocating to Southwest Florida in 2004.
Lieutenant Rodriguez holds both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Gulf Coast University.
