Part-Time Court Assistant

Starting Salary: $26.24 per hour / 24.5 max hours (vary per week depending on the operations of the court/ on-call as needed)

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to the Court Operations Deputy during court proceedings
  • Assist with juries and the public
  • Requires the ability to utilize a computer
  • Must be comfortable with physical contact with the public and inmates for fingerprinting and DNA
  • Ability to utilize a 2-way radio for official communications only
  • Able to communicate in a clear and concise manner at all times
  • Required to be able to ascend or descend stairs (up to 7 floors)
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking
  • Perform a variety of tasks to include handling court paperwork

Physical Demands:

  • Sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Repetitive motion using coordination and dexterity abilities
  • Walking long distances on different surfaces

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years old, or older
  • Must have obtained a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be a US Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License or state-issued ID card
  • Must possess a Social Security Card
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony
  • Must not have used illegal drugs in the last 12 months
  • Must not have received a dishonorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces
  • Must be able to work various shifts with rotating days off, as well as weekends, holidays, and emergency events such as hurricanes
  • Must be able to speak, write and understand the English language
  • Must have knowledge of basic math, filing, and basic computer skills
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
