Network Security Engineer (Cyber Security)
Salary: $69,550 – $129,500 (Negotiable – based on experience and skills)

Days/Hours: Dayshift on-site with on-call nights and weekends (must have 24/7 availability)

Role and Responsibilities:
As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be a critical part of our defense strategy. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security measures to protect our systems, networks, and data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify vulnerabilities, lead incident response, and proactively enhance our security posture to stay ahead of sophisticated cyber threats.
- Compliance and Audits: Assist with security audits and ensure compliance with government standards and regulations.
- Design and Implementation: Develop and implement security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint security tools.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security reviews for on-premises and cloud environments.
- Incident Response: Lead or assist in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents.
- Threat Intelligence: Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices to recommend and implement proactive security measures.
- Security Architecture: Provide technical guidance and support for secure architecture, ensuring security is integrated into all aspects of our technology environment.
Physical Demands:
- Bend, walk, sit, stand for long periods, see, hear, speak, manual dexterity, ambulate independently, tolerate strong odors and able to lift 50 lbs. Able to work in outdoor or non-A/C environments with temperatures excess of 90 degrees.
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old, or older
- Must have obtained a high school diploma or GED
- Must be a US Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License or state-issued ID
- Must possess a Social Security Card
- Must not have been convicted of a felony
- Must not have used illegal drugs in the last 12 months
- Must not have received a dishonorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces
- Must be able to work various shifts, as well weekends, holidays, and emergency events such as hurricanes
- Must be able to speak, write, and understand the English language
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer or in a similar security-focused role.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols and security concepts (encryption, authentication).
- Strong knowledge/experience with IPsec and RA-VPN technologies to implement and troubleshoot.
- Strong knowledge of certificate-based authentication and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
- Experience implementing and troubleshooting secure authentication solutions.
- Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, and forensic tools.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and analysis.
- Experience with cloud security (Azure – preferred).
- Certifications: CISSP – required
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications (one or more preferred):
- Cisco CCNP Security with the SISE (Security ISE) Focus – Highly Preferred
- PCNSE (Palo Alto Certified Network Security Engineer) – preferred
- CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) – preferred
- CompTIA Security+ – preferred
- Other relevant cybersecurity certifications will be considered
- Familiarity with industry frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to explain complex security issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
