Full-Time Tailor

Starting Salary: C10 $42,000 – $90,000 (negotiable based on experience)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Annual Compensation:

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide tailoring and alteration services to all employees.
- Ensure uniforms are properly fitted, maintained, and repaired to meet agency standards.
- Take accurate body measurements and conduct fittings.
- Perform garment alterations, including:
- Hemming
- Taking in or letting out garments
- Adjusting closures (e.g., zippers, buttons)
- Inspect uniforms for damage and perform necessary repairs:
- Replace zippers, buttons, seams, and linings
- Use both hand-sewing and machine-sewing techniques.
- Proficiency with both industrial and domestic sewing machines.
- Maintain sewing equipment:
- Clean and oil machines regularly
- Keep work areas clean and organized, including fitting rooms.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Collaborate with vendors when necessary.
- Maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with coworkers, supervisors, and managers.
Physical Demands:
- Stand or sit for an extended period of time
- Use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms
- Repetitive motion using coordination and dexterity abilities
- Occasionally lift and or move up to 20 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old, or older
- Must have obtained a high school diploma or GED
- Must be a US Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License or state issued ID card
- Must possess a Social Security Card
- Must not have been convicted of a felony
- Must not have used illegal drugs in the last 12 months
- Must not have received a dishonorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces
- Must be able to speak, write and understand the English language
Required Skills:
- Prior employment experience working in a similar position.
- Mending/alteration experience
