Starting Salary: $60,990.00 (negotiable upon experience)

Days/Hours: 5 Days, Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Job Description:

Highly motivated and detail oriented Accountant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and year end journal entries
  • Knowledge and ability to process accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and bank reconciliations
  • Assist with bi-weekly in house payroll processing
  • Understand payroll related reporting such as Florida Retirement System, 941’s, and W-2’s
  • Oversee the identification, classification, and recording of leases and SBITAs in accordance with GASB 87 and 96 guidelines
  • Assist with preparation of yearly close and audit
  • Cross train and back up other areas of Finance as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Repetitive motion using coordination and dexterity abilities

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting; preferably in governmental accounting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
