🚨MISSING ENDANGERED ADULT🚨
The Lee County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing/endangered adult, 80-year-old Maria Amaya.
Maria is 5’2, 110lbs, with gray hair and brown eyes. She was last seen on foot in the 110blk of Apache St in Lehigh Acres around 6:30p.m. Maria was last seen wearing dark green pants, a blue jean shirt, and blue shoes.

A Lehigh Acres mother was arrested Tuesday night after 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 over an alleged stolen purse, then 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫.
Around 10:00 p.m., deputies were called to the Vista Palms Apartments for a disturbance.
Deputies learned the suspect, 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐚 𝐎𝐫𝐨𝐳𝐜𝐨, went to the juvenile's apartment to confront them over the alleged theft of a purse. Ring camera footage captured Orozco confronting the juvenile and the juvenile's mother before throwing her phone at the juvenile's face and then physically attacking the mother.
Orozco was arrested and charged with 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 and 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝.
The investigation into the alleged stolen purse is active.

The group treated our First Precinct team to lunch, rolled up their sleeves to wash our patrol vehicles, and spent time getting to know our deputies.

🚨LEHIGH ACRES—ACTIVE SCENE 🚨
Deputies were actively searching for a wanted suspect when the suspect crashed into a ditch in a wooded area near Ridgemont Dr. & Welby Ln.
The suspect then barricaded themselves inside the vehicle before being safely taken into custody.
There is no active threat to the community.

3rd Precinct Deputy Hopson responded to a call about a week-old baby raccoon that had been found alone, without its mother. With care and compassion, Deputy Hopson safely took the tiny raccoon into his care and transported it to CROW on Sanibel Island, where wildlife experts will provide the specialized treatment and rehabilitation it needs.
Thanks to Deputy Hopson’s quick response, this healthy little raccoon has a second chance. Without intervention, it would have faced the dangers of the beach and extreme heat on its own.
We’re proud of Deputy Hopson’s commitment to protecting not only our community, but also the wildlife that calls Southwest Florida home.

When 1st Precinct Deputy Kirby responded to a call in North Fort Myers, he found no medical emergency—but he did find a home with indoor temperatures soaring above 90° after the A/C had failed. Learning the resident wasn`t in a position to replace the unit, he knew he couldn`t just walk away.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of Pete Flatter, manager of Home Depot Store #3119, a brand-new window A/C unit was donated. Deputy Kirby and Deputy Drummond delivered and installed it, bringing cool air and comfort to a grateful resident.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. This is what community is all about; neighbors truly helping neighbors. 💙❄️
