  Business Watch Businesses involved in this program learn about suspicious activity, and participate in special methods that help them report crime to the Sheriff's Office.
  Business/Commercial Survey You may may opt to have a law enforcement professional review the basic security currently in place at your business and you will receive information on the steps you can take to improve security.
  Convenience Store Business Security Inspection Allow law enforcement to inspect your convenience store to identify weaknesses in your security and to make security improvement suggestions.
  Presentation Topics
  Bank Safety We can help banking staff can explore ways your financial institution can be protected from becoming a target of criminal activity.
  Business Burglary/Robbery Prevention Know the basic steps businesses can take to protect your employees and customers in the event your business is robbed. Tips are also provided to help the sheriff's office investigation in the event a crime does occur.
  Business Crime Various types of business crimes are explored by the speaker and suggestions are offered to your business to help prevent them.

Children and Youth
  Participative Programs
  Child Fingerprinting Have your children fingerprinted so the prints can be used for child identification purposes. This program is usually conducted by the V.O.I.C.E. members who volunteer their time for LCSO and the community (see V.O.I.C.E. program).
  Child Safety This program consists of various topics related to child safety, at home, at school, and in the community.Click for printer-friendly brochure. Additional brochure.
  Do the Right Thing Not only children, but teachers, families and the community at large may participate in this program which encourages children grades K-12 to help the community by performing positive acts. Positive behavior by children is reinforced through recognition and rewards. Anyone may nominate a child whose positive actions are above and beyond. See more information.
  Explorer Program Young people may participate in this program to learn about the Lee County Sheriff's Office and law enforcement. See more information.
  School Resource Officers Lee County Sheriff Office Deputies are assigned to work in the Lee County Public Schools to help provide a safer learning environment.
  Student Crime Stoppers Students are encouraged to help solve crimes by annonymously reporting crime tips and possibly receiving a reward. See more information.

Corrections
  Participative Programs
  AA Meeting These meetings take place at the Lee County Corrections Facilities.
  Christian Life Skills This program involves teaching basic Chrictian Life skills to those who are in the corrections system.
  Correctional Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.)
  Drug and Alcohol Awareness for Inmates This program teaches drug and alcohol awareness in the corrections system.
  Drug/Anger Management Program This program, conducted in our detention facilities, teaches inmates how to deal with anger management and drug addiction.
  GED Test Preparatory Class Detention inmates can work toward their GED in this program.
  Literacy Classes Lee County inmates with poor reading or writing skills can learn how to read.

  Substance Abuse Program This program involves educating the inmates on the dangers of drugs.

Elders and Seniors
  Participative Programs
  Alzheimer's Wanderer's I.D. and Safety Program A program of the Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer's Resource Center, Inc., this service involves registering persons who suffer memory disorders and have a tendency to wander away. The Lee County Sheriff's Office can provide you with the safety packet from the Resource Center. The list of registered citizens with special needs is shared by the Resource Center and LCSO.
  CASE Partnership CASE Partnership, Communities Against Senior Exploitation is a program designed to combat telemarketing and other elder fraud through alliances made between prosecutors and law enforcement agencies and faith communities. It provides a faith-based program for elder fraud prevention, crime detection and reporting, and victim support. It is a successful community partnership that uses the trust and compassion associated with faith communities to effectively educate and empower, protect and assist older adults.   File of Life We can refer seniors to this program of the Lee Memorial Health System. Patients document and store critical medical information in a specific manner so emergency first responders can quickly locate the information.

  Convicted Elder Predators Search the Florida Department of Corrections Offender Network List. Type your search information on their web page, select CRIMES AGAINST THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED, Submit your Request, then select the type of search results you want to view. See more information.

  Participative Programs
  Alcohol and Drug Awareness We teach basic awareness of the effects of drugs and alcohol.
  Bicycle/Pedestrian Safety Program Adults and children can participate in this progam to learn about the laws pertaining to bicycles and pedestrians, and how to make yourselves safer when you are pursuing bicycle or pedestrian activities.
  Community Notification and Registration of Sexual Offenders Convicted sexual offenders relocating to the area are registered and the community is notified. See more information.
  Community Service Aide (CSA) Are you a civic minded person interested in LAW ENFORCEMENT? If so, here is your chance to be part of a unique group of citizens dedicated to helping your community. After successfully completing the CSA Academy and field training, you will become appointed as a paid member of LCSO to help patrol, work parades and other special events, help with traffic control and crowd control and perform some investigations.   Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design The Lee County Sheriff's Office can inspect building site plans prior to construction to identify ways to prevent or reduce crime.
  Crime Stoppers Citizens are encouraged to report crime-related information to law enforcement through this program that allows you to remain annonymous and possibly collect a reward. See more information.
  Neighborhood Watch Program (NW) This program involves a partnership between the Lee County Sheriff's Office and the community. Citizens learn how to organize and participate in protecting their neighborhood.Click for printer-friendly brochure.
  Project Livesaver Project Lifesaver is a special program to register limited-ability citizens who may wander in order to help law enforcement agencies more easily find them if they do get lost. Caregivers of these special citizens may register and use a special tracking bracelet for the special citizen to wear. Donations fund the program, so at times there may be a waiting list for new participants to become active in the program. See more information.
  Residential Security Survey Program Lee County Sheriff's Office members visit your home to identify weaknesses in security and make suggestions for improving security.
  Volunteer Observers Impacting Community Efforts (V.O.I.C.E.) This program involves citizen volunteers trained and dedicated to helping the Sheriff's Office in a variety of tasks. See more information.

  Computer/Cyber Security The Florida Department of Law Enforcement also provides information on line as to how to protect computers and computer networks and your children who use the Internet. See more information.
  Corrections Housing, Programs and Security Information is provided about the Lee County Jail and/or the Lee County stockade.
  Crime Prevention Public Awareness This presentation explores public perceptions and misconceptions regarding crime in our area. The speaker will focus on raising public awareness and public safety.
  Driver Safety Awareness (DSA)

  Frauds, Scams, Cons Your LCSO representative will explore the current crimes relating to faud and scams, and will teach you how to keep from becoming a victim.Click for printer-friendly brochure.
  Gun Safety for Adults Gun safety and practice can be done at the Lee County Gun Range operated by the Lee County Sheriff's Office. Prior to using the range, you must complete a written application, complete the safety education class, and have a photo taken for a special picture I.D.   Headquarters Gain a better understanding about the Lee County Sheriff's Office and its operations at the headquarters.
  Identity Theft Be aware of how criminals steal identities, and what can be done to prevent this from occurring to you. The Attorney General's Office of Statewide Prosecution provides steps to take if your identity is stolen on their web site under Consumer Alerts.   Internet Safety Adults or children can learn how to safely use the Internet.

  Residential Security The LCSO speaker will explain how you can take a good look at your residence and identify ways to make it less of a target for thieves. Helpful suggestions are given in this informative presentation.
  Telemarketing Fraud Citizens receive information illustrating the techniques telemarketers use to steal money, personal information, and credit cards numbers.

  Victims Advocate Program This program is a service to victims of serious crimes.

Women
  Self Defense Awareness and Familiarization Exchange (S.A.F.E.) This participative program teaches women the basics of physical self defense and ways to reduce threat risks. It includes a video overview, handouts, and an introduction to physical self defense. We have no upper age limit.
