Full Time and Part Time Human Resource Generalist

Salary Range: $40,000 – $75,000 (Full Time), $19.23/hr (Part Time)

Role and Responsibilities

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the HR department including interviewing applicants, administering pay, benefits and leave, and enforcing agency policies and practices. This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records and documentation and maintains the integrity and confidentiality of such
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and /or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department; answering telephones, filing, new hire orientation, recruitment, employee recognition programs, employee benefit programs, etc.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes HR data, metrics, and statistics, and applies this data to make recommendations related to all areas of HR practice
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old, or older
  • Must have obtained a high school or GED diploma
  • Must be a US Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License or state-issued ID card
  • Must possess a Social Security Card
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony
  • Must not have used illegal drugs in the last 12 months
  • Must not have received a dishonorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces
  • Must be able to speak, write and understand the English language

Preferred Skills

  • Familiar with public record laws
  • Knowledge of employment laws
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or related field
  • Experience in related areas such as job classification, compensation, recruitment, selection, training, employee benefits, and/or equal opportunity compliance
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
