Economic Crimes Sergeant

The Economic Crimes Unit (ECU) investigates reports of complex financial crimes; schemes that affect a large number of victims; identity thefts; check and credit card frauds; contractor fraud; and crimes against the elderly.  ECU personnel maintain professional relationships with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, as well as businesses, financial institutions, and credit card companies to assist in prevention and target-hardening efforts.  If you are the victim of one of listed crimes, members of the Economic Crimes Unit can provide you with information on organizations that can assist you.  These organizations will assist you in securing your credit history and preventing further fraud.  If you are a victim of a crime and want to file a criminal report, telephone the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at (239) 477-1000.
