Combined efforts result in big arrest
On September 13, 2018, members of the Lee County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit, with the assistance of the Highway Interdiction Unit, conducted an investigation after a traffic stop was conducted on Edgar Vazquez (D.O.B. 02/07/85).
During that investigation, it was discovered that Vazquez was in possession of 520 grams (over a ½ kilogram) of powder cocaine.
Detectives then authored and obtained a search warrant at Vazquez’s residence located at 2770 Via Piazza Loop in Fort Myers. At his home, an additional 717.3 grams of powder cocaine, 32.5 grams of marijuana, a money counter, $1,000 in U.S. Currency and a Colt competition 1911 .45 caliber handgun was located.
At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives in total seized 1237.3 grams of cocaine, 32.5 grams of Marijuana, $1,000 in U.S. Currency and a Colt .45 caliber handgun. Vazquez was subsequently booked into the Lee County Jail for Trafficking in Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana over 20 grams.
