Pair Arrested for Tampering in 2017 Homicide

Two arrests have been made by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for both Evidence Destroying / Tamper with or Fabricate (FSS 918.13) and for Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor (FSS 827.04) in the case involving the February 8, 2017 homicide of Eric Duff.

Martell Eugene Gray (B/M  DOB 07/05/1990) and Kaitlyn Belle Gillespie (W/F  DOB 02/08/1994) are currently in the custody of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Both Gray and Gillespie were inside of the residence at the time of the homicide and subsequently removed items from the home and from the decedent’s pockets prior to contacting 911.

On the first anniversary of the North Fort Myers homicide, the LCSO Major Crimes Unit continues to work vigorously to bring the person or persons responsible for Eric Duff’s death to justice.
