LCSO, FMPD Jointly Apprehend Carjacking Suspects

At approximately 10:49 pm on Wednesday evening, January 24, Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call for service in regard to a carjacking near the Chili’s Grill and Bar located east of the interstate on Alico Road.
The LCSO Robbery Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
Vehicle information was disseminated immediately.
On Thursday morning, at approximately 11:30 am, the Fort Myers Police Department located the vehicle, a black 2018 Dodge Charger, and attempted a traffic stop in the area of Colonial Boulevard and South Tamiami Trail.
The driver of the Charger attempted to flee from FMPD and subsequently collided with multiple parked vehicles near 11900 South Cleveland Avenue.
Immediately following the collision, two suspects were apprehended by both the Fort Myers Police Department and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Elex Mouzon (B/M DOB 07/27/2000) and Jerry Speed (B/M DOB 01/05/1992) were both taken into custody and are in the process of being booked.
Mouzon will be charged with a Violation of Probation as well as Armed Carjacking. Speed will be charged with Fleeing and Eluding, Armed Carjacking, Driving with a Suspended License, Leaving the Scene of a Crash and Resisting Arrest without Violence.
