Corrections Officer Trainee (Sponsorship to Academy)
Starting Salary: $33,206.00

Involves Corrections work maintaining care, custody and control of an inmate population and serving in a variety of assignments in the Bureau of Corrections. As a Corrections Deputy you will need to interpret and enforce all applicable federal, state and local laws, general orders, directives, policies and procedures of the Sheriff's Office and the Florida Model Jail Standards.
Desired Job Experience:
Correction Officer Trainees will be employed by the Lee County Sheriff's Office and sponsored to a Basic Recruit Training Program held at the Southwest Florida Public Service Academy in Fort Myers Florida.
Must have a U.S. High School Diploma or equivalent as recognized by the State of Florida Department of Education.
After successfully completing the Academy the employee must pass the State Officer Certification Examination (SOCE). Once the employee passes the State Officer Certification Exam the salary will be increased to $35,294.00
Must be 19 years of age to qualify as a Corrections Officer (if 18 you must turn 19 before completing the Academy)
