Law Enforcement Deputy Trainee (Sponsorship to Academy)

Primary Responsibilities:

This position involves law enforcement protecting the public and preserving the peace, and serving in any of a variety of assignments in the Sheriff's Office. As a Deputy Sheriff, you need to interpret and enforce all applicable federal, state and local laws, general orders, directives, and policies and procedures of the Sheriff's Office.

Tasks Performed:

Deputy Sheriff Trainees will be employed by the Lee County Sheriff's Office and sponsored to a Basic Recruit Training Program held at the Southwest Florida Public Service Academy in Fort Myers Florida.

Desired Education:

Must have a U.S. High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certifications Required:

After successfully completing the Academy the employee must pass the State Officer Certification Examination (SOCE). Once the employee passes the State Officer Certification Exam the salary will be increased to $37,500.00

Other Qualifications:

Must be 21 years of age to qualify as a Law Enforcement Officer (if 20 you must turn 21 before completing the Academy) Equal Opportunity Employer with Veteran's Preference.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

Must be able to pass the Physical Abilities Test.
