Minimum Qualifications

  • Age requirements:

    Certified Corrections - 19 y.o.
    Certified Law Enforcement - 21 y.o.
    Civilian Positions - 18 y.o.

  • Certified law enforcement or certified corrections must be a United States citizen.
  • A civilian must be a United States citizen or legal resident of the United States.
  • Be a U.S. high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Possess a valid Florida driver's license.
  • If previously a member of the Armed Forces of the United States, service and discharge must be honorable or under honorable conditions.
  • Possess a Social Security card.
  • Be of good moral character; having no felony convictions; no misdemeanor convictions involving moral character, perjury, or false statement, as outlined in the Florida State Statute.
  • Be able to meet our restrictive drug standard.
  • Successfully complete our hiring process to include written testing, polygraph exam and oral interview.

If applying for a certified law enforcement or certified corrections, you must also:

  • Pass the Florida Basic Abilities Test (F.B.A.T.).
  • Be in good physical condition and successfully pass a physical exam and an agility test.
  • Successfully complete an oral board interview.

Military or law enforcement experience and/or college degree preferred.
