A Fort Myers man arrested for choking and battering his wife faces more problems after deputies discovered an arsenal of weapons in his home.
Deputies responded to a domestic violence call at 15641 Alton Drive, Fort Myers. There they learned that Dashnor Elezi (DOB 10-6-74) had choked and elbowed his wife during an argument, even shoving a towel in her mouth and holding her nose to try to get her to pass out. Elezi was arrested for domestic violence battery.
During the investigation, Elezi's wife informed deputies that Elezi had weapons in the home and provided written consent to search the residence. Deputies discovered twenty four firearms, ammunition, explosive materials and detonators and even a rocket propelled grenade launcher.
Following his arrest, Elezi made further threats against his wife as well as against deputies.
Elezi is charged with Felony Domestic Battery by Strangulation, False Imprisonment, Possession of Explosives and Resisting Arrest.
Due to the discovery of high powered weapons and explosives, the Lee County Sheriff's Office notified ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms), DHS (Department of Homeland Security) and the FBI.
