Sheriff's Office Donates to local Habitat for Humanity
Thursday, June 28, 2012

The Lee County Sheriff's Office today finished delivering four truckloads of used desks and filing cabinets to the local Habitat for Humanity.  The delivery was made to Restore, Habitat's retail outlet in North Fort Myers.

This latest donation comes on the heals of $5,000 worth of laminate flooring that the sheriff's office donated to Habitat for Humanity earlier this year.  The flooring was ill-gotten gains from individuals involved in a cloned credit card scheme.

Whether it's flooring or used desks and filing cabinets, Habitat for Humanity plans to put it to good use.  "We are really grateful for each donation we get from the sheriff's office," says Donna Marie Clavin, the Vice President of Habitat's Restore.  The donations are sold to the public with the money used to build Habitat homes.  "Each donation we get puts us one step closer to putting people in homes," says Clavin.
