Thursday, June 21, 2012

On Wednesday, June 20, 2012, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at 6940 Westwood Acres Road, Fort Myers. A search warrant was obtained following an investigation into a resident who had distributed large quantities of marijuana. Detectives had purchased 1.2 pounds of marijuana from Jermaine Lewis earlier in the month and made plans for future purchases. After arresting Lewis, detectives executed a search warrant at 6940 Westwood Acres which led to the seizure of an AR-15 rifle that had been stolen from a vehicle in 2010, two short barrel rifles, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and 2.5 pounds of high grade marijuana.

During the search, narcotics detectives discovered multiple vehicles and various car parts on the property. Detectives from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Grand Theft Auto Unit were called to the scene and discovered vehicles and vehicle parts that were confirmed to be stolen. The investigation into the stolen vehicles is ongoing.
