Identification Sought in Stolen Motor Parts

On June 2, 2012, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a theft of auto parts from 11220 Metro Parkway, Fort Myers.

The investigation revealed an employee had removed an engine on May 5, 2012, and placed it into the rear of a van that was parked on the property. On June 2, 2012, he returned to work on the engine and there were parts missing. The stolen items include a radiator, oil and air conditioning coils, an alternator and the intake manifold. The total value of the stolen items is approximately $2500.

Detectives assigned to the case were able to locate surveillance video from another business which shows a subject near another vehicle in the area of the theft on May 9, 2012 at approximately at 7 p.m. The surveillance video and photos are attached to this press release. The subject appears to be a large white male with a receding hairline. He was driving a dark SUV which can be seen in the foreground. Detectives are seeking information on his identity.
