Operation Medicine Cabinet
Monday, May 7, 2012

Medications play an important role in treating certain conditions and diseases, but they should be taken with care. Unused medications must be disposed of properly to avoid harm to wildlife, pets and people.

On Wednesday, May 9th from 10 am until 2 pm the Lee Count y Sheriff’s Office along with Abby Services Inc will be collecting unused medications at three different locations as part of Operation Medicine Cabinet with a goal of educating everyone in our community about safely disposing of their medications and the importance of keeping them off of our streets, out of our landfills and water systems.

• All medications must be in a sealed container.

• We can not accept sharps (needles, lancets, etc)

• Collected medications will be safely incinerated CVS Pharmacy has joined us in our campaign to make Lee County safer by donating red Sharp containers. Limit one per family; supplies are limited.

Please make plans to join us on Wednesday, May 9th, 2012 from 10 am until 2 pm as the Lee County Sheriff’s Office collects unused or expired medications at our Alpha, Charlie or Echo District Offices. If you are unable to make it to one of these locations you can also stop by any of our district offices and drop off your sealed medications in one of our secure drop boxes.
