On November 24, 2013, at approximately 1:22 am, the Lee County Sheriff's Office received a call regarding an armed robbery that occurred at the 7-11 at 2530 Joel Boulevard in Lehigh Acres.
Deputies responded to scene and set up a perimeter. The sheriff’s office K-9 and Aviation Units responded to assist with the suspect search. The suspects were not located.
Due to the nature of the crime detectives with the Robbery Unit assumed the investigation.
Detectives discovered two suspects entered the store one armed with a rifle and the other carried a red duffle bag. The suspects ordered the employees to stay in the back of the store as the two exchanged possession of the weapon and duffle bag and took turns going behind the counter stealing various packages of tobacco products. Both suspects fled the area.
The exact quantity, brand and value of the stolen tobacco products are unknown at this time.
Suspect #1 is described as possibly a Hispanic male wearing a camouflage style jacket, a black ski mask with blue trim, baggy blue jeans, approximately 5'6",130 lbs and in his early 20’s wearing neon yellow/green gloves with black palms similar to mechanics gloves.
Suspect #2 is described a white male 5'9", 145 lbs, early 20's, wearing a red jacket over a white t-shirt, a black and yellow hat, brown plastic mask, dirty blue jeans and black gloves.
