Deputies Arrest Fort Myers Shores Shooting Suspect

On October 31, 2013, at approximately 9:56 pm, the Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call to 12307 Fourth Street, Fort Myers, in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, deputies found a male suffering from a gun shot wound. The victim was sent to the Trauma Center at Lee Memorial Hospital as result of his injuries.

Due to the nature of the incident, detectives with Lee County Sheriffs Major Crimes Unit responded and assumed the investigation.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was in front of his residence when he noticed a black, newer model Nissan Altima pulled up behind him with its lights off. The victim observed a black male exit the rear passenger's side door of the vehicle. The suspect pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim. The victim immediately turned around and began to run. At that time he heard several gunshots and felt himself struck in the back. The suspect returned to the vehicle and fled the scene.

Detectives have identified and arrested Demetri Lee Williams (DOB 03/26/1981), 12314 Fourth St, Fort Myers as the suspect responsible for the shooting.
