The female shooting victim has been identified as 21 year old (9/14/92) J’Leisa Jesshal Ruffin of Fort Myers (last known address in jail file-an inmate photo is available on our website at www.sheriffleefl.org under the Criminal Activity tab, then click Arrest Search and enter her name). The adult male killed in this morning's shooting has been positively identified as 33 year old (5-23-80) Andres Lopez of Cape Coral, Florida (last known address in jail file-an inmate photo is available on our website at www.sheriffleefl.org under the Criminal Activity tab, then click Arrest Search and enter his name). The victim has been released to the District 21 Medical Examiner.
The second victim, a female, remains hospitalized in stable condition. Her name is not available for release, at this time. The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.

On Sunday, September 22, 2013, at 3:40 a.m., Communications Operators with the Lee County Sheriff's Office received a call about a shooting. The caller was actually driving a gray, Dodge Ram pickup truck on Old McGregor Boulevard and wanted to meet deputies and get medical attention after being shot. Deputies responded to the area and found the shooting victim had crashed near the McGregor Woods community. Meanwhile, a second call was received about shots fired in the 4800 block of Hager Court, in the Harlem Heights community of Fort Myers, Florida.
Deputies responded to the scene to find an adult male who had also been shot. It was ascertained both individuals were shot at the same location on Hager Court. The female victim was transported to the Trauma Center at Lee Memorial Hospital and was last reported in stable condition. The male subject was enroute to the hospital when he died as the result of his injuries. Due to the nature of the incident, detectives with the Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit have been assigned to continue the investigation.
