The Lee County Sheriff's Echo District (formerly known as Central) Office will be closed to the general public till further notice. The clerks assigned to greet and assist citizens at that location will now be working out of the headquarters facility at 14750 Ben C. Pratt Six-Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers, for the time being. Mold at the district office requires renovations and forced the temporary displacement of some, but not all, sheriff's office employees while the work is done. The Echo District Office is located in the Pinebrook Plaza off U.S. 41 in Fort Myers at 12995 S. Cleveland Avenue, Suite 171. The primary phone number to the district is unchanged -- (239) 477-1850.
Citizen's who ordinarily utilize the office for fingerprinting services will be able to go to the Sheriff's Office headquarters once the district's machine has been relocated, hopefully, no later than tomorrow. Fingerprinting is done Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for a $5.00 dollar cash fee and is still available at the following District Offices:
All fingerprinting is done electronically and meets the current standards as set forth by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
