Raymond Gryska, DOB 05/27/1050 of 1820 Florida Club Circle, Naples, was sentenced today seven years in a Florida State Prison, 23 years probation, and ordered to pay full restitution.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Economic Crimes Unit began investigating Gryska after they received a complaint from his employer, Leanis Polynesian Shop Inc. The investigation revealed that Jennings was defrauding his employer by stealing funds for his personal gambling ventures. Gryska was arrested on November 8, 2011 and charged for First Degree Grand Theft and Fraud/Scheme to Defraud over 100,000K.
An analysis of the victim’s business accounts discovered 296 fraudulent transactions from January 4, 2008 through July 28, 2011. The majority of the fraud involved Gryska forging checks from several of the victims operating accounts and depositing them into his personal account with the exception of several checks that were cashed at check cashing establishments or sent to his personal brokerage account.
In total, Gryska stole $157,167.13 from three separate accounts.
Due to the investigation led by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Economic Crimes Unit, Raymond Gryska will now spend the next 84 months in prison without having the opportunity to swindle another employer.
