A sheriff’s deputy and his girlfriend are under arrest for marijuana charges. Piotr (pronounced Peter) Urbanski and Shannon Clancey (DOB 03-28-84) were arrested at 3:30am on Friday, May 17, 2013.
On Thursday, May 16, 2013, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received information that marijuana was being cultivated at a residence in Cape Coral. The suspects were identified as Piotr Urbanski and Shannon Clancey.
During the course of the investigation, it was confirmed that Urbanski and Clancey were in possession of several marijuana plants that were being cultivated on the back lanai/pool deck. Members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and other members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the residence.
A search of the residence revealed dried marijuana in the kitchen area, two pipes for smoking marijuana and 23 live plants on the lanai. Seven additional plants were discovered in a small trash can on the porch.
Sheriff Mike Scott says, “We stand firm at policing our own house and we take immediate action when someone violates the public's trust."
As a result, Piotr Urbanski was terminated from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. He was employed at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office since 2012 and worked mostly in Charlie (West) District.
Piotr Urbanski and Shannon Clancey were charged with Producing Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana over 20 grams, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
