Four carjacking suspects from Florida's east coast are in the Lee County Jail tonight.
Intelligence gathered from the Hollywood, Florida Police Department indicated the four men might be headed to Lee County. At approximately 10:00 a.m. today, deputies with the Bravo District Special Enforcement Team (SET) spotted a vehicle in Lehigh Acres matching the description of the vehicle stolen during a carjacking in Hollywood on May 10, 2013.
With the assistance of Bravo District patrol deputies and Criminal Investigation Division (CID) detectives, SET deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle fled eastbound on Lee Boulevard making a turn onto Gunnery Avenue South. The vehicle then turned onto a canal bank on Douglas Lane. The four occupants fled from the vehicle on foot but were quickly located and taken into custody.
Arrested and charged were Sigmund Brown, DOB 3-6-97, of Hollywood, Florida; Derrick Adams, DOB 6-20-92, of Dania, Florida; Arvis Brown, DOB 11-25-97, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Bruce Francis, DOB 11-14-95, of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. All men are charged with Resisting Arrest without violence. Adams was also on house arrest in Broward County and absconded from probation in November. Additional charges are pending from out of county.
