Suspects Sought in Carjacking at Lehigh Wal-Mart

On Thursday, April 18, 2013, at approximately 10:03 p.m., the Lee County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call in reference to a carjacking that had just occurred in the front parking lot of Walmart, located at 2523 Lee Boulevard, Lehigh Acres. Deputies arrived on scene and met with the victim.

The victim stated that she loaded groceries in the trunk of her vehicle and returned her cart to a cart kiosk in the parking lot. Upon returning to her vehicle, the victim was approached by a black male who pointed a gun at her and demanded that she give him everything she has. The victim turned around and tried to get away, however the black male grabbed her arms and snatched her keys from her hand. The black male then entered the victim’s vehicle, along with a second black male, and they both drove away.

As Deputies were on scene at Walmart, dispatch advised there was a hit and run crash reported at the intersection of Lee Boulevard and Gunnery Road. It was confirmed that the victim’s vehicle from the carjacking was involved in the crash and that both occupants of the vehicle fled on foot. An extensive perimeter was set up; however the suspects were not located.

Both suspects are described to be black males, possibly in their early 20s, assistance is needed with their identification.
