A minimum of two weeks notice is usually necessary to acquire a speaker. Please note that this does not guarantee a speaker will be available.
A wide variety of presentations are offered by our Florida Crime Prevention Practitioners. These presentations vary in length and are a free service of the Lee County Sheriff's Office. These presentations provide information and tips to promote safety and help prevent crime.
It may also be possible to arrange other Lee County Sheriff's Office speakers including our representatives from various volunteer crime prevention programs, such as Crime Stoppers, V.O.I.C.E. (Volunteer Observers Impacting Community Effort), or specific areas of the Lee County Sheriff's Office like the K-9 Unit, Marine Unit, Aviation, and more.

We also coordinate or partner with, provide information from, and refer to many LCSO or community safety and crime prevention programs that require some participation on your part. In addition we offer volunteer and donation opportunities in several crime prevention and crime education programs. You decide based on the program or programs that can help you and on your ability to participate.

|Active Shooter for Businesses & Organizations||This program helps businesses, houses of worship and other institutions prepare for an active shooter situation.|
|Active Shooter for the Community||This program teaches community members what to do if caught in an active shooter situation.|
|Alcohol and Drug Awareness||Learn basic awareness of the effects of alcohol and some of the popular drugs.|
|Alzheimer's Wanderer's I.D. and Safety Program||A program of the Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer's Resource Center, Inc., this service involves registering persons who suffer memory disorders and have a tendency to wander away. The Lee County Sheriff's Office can provide you with the safety packet from the Resource Center. The list of registered citizens with special needs is shared by the Resource Center and LCSO.|
|Anti-Bullying||This program centers around self control and anger management, as well as tolerance and peer pressure. This presentation can be geared towards youth of any age or parents.|
|Auto Theft Prevention||Learn about the various ways to protect your vehicle from being broken into and stolen.|
|Bank Safety||Explore ways to target harden your financial institution from criminal activity.|
|Becoming a Watchful Community||Citizens learn how to observe and report suspicious activity in their neighborhood.|
|Bicycle/Pedestrian Safety Program||Learn about the laws pertaining to bicycles and pedestrians and how to safely enjoy these pass times. This can be geared toward youth of any age and adults.|
|Boat Safety||Boat Safety is a program where boat and water safety and laws are discussed.|
|Boat Theft Prevention||Learn ways to safeguard your boat from theft at home and at a marina.|
|Bomb Squad||Learn about the training and equipment used when the Bomb Squad is called out.|
|Burglary Follow-Up, Business||If your business is burglarized, crime prevention specialists can follow-up with suggestions on how to improve safety and security of your business.|
|Burglary Follow-Up, Residential||If your home is burglarized, crime prevention specialists can follow-up with suggestions on how to improve the safety and security of your home.|
|Business Burglary/Robbery Prevention||Learn how to target harden your business against burglaries and robberies as well as basic steps to protect your employees and customers during and after a robbery. Tips are also provided to help the sheriff's office investigation in the event a crime does occur.|
|Business Crime||Gives an overview of crimes that target businesses.|
|Business ID Theft||This program offers businesses information on how identity thieves target a business, the methods they use, how mobile electronic devices are at risk, and how to protect both the business and customer's personal information from ID theft.|
|Business Watch||Team up with area businesses and the Lee County Sheriff's Office to learn how to report suspicious activity/persons, and receive information from the Sheriff's Office geared toward area businesses and their staff.|
|Business/Commercial Survey||You may may opt to have a law enforcement professional review the basic security currently in place at your business and you will receive information on the steps you can take to improve security.|
|CarFit||Do you have a clear view out of your vehicle's windows? Making adjustments can help you benefit from vehicle safety features by improving comfort, control and confidence behind the wheel. CarFit is an educational program that provides a quick, comprehensive review of how well you and your vehicle work together.|
|CASE Partnership||Communities Against Senior Exploitation is designed to combat all forms of financial exploitation in our older adult community and beyond. It includes education, fraud line assistance, reporting assistance, and victim support.|
|Celebrate Safe Communities||Crime Prevention Done the Right Way - local people working with law enforcement to address local issues. CSC spotlights communities' crime prevention efforts, enhances public awareness of vital crime prevention and safety messages, and recruits year-around support for ongoing prevention activities that help people keep neighborhoods safe from crime and prepared for any emergency. CSC take place annually during the first week of October which is National Crime Prevention month.|
|Cell Dog Program||Learn how the Lee County Sheriff's Office, Lee County Domestic Animal Services and the Gulf Coast Humane Society work together to save many dogs that are in jeopardy of being euthanized. With the help of professional trainers, inmates learn to train and care for dogs. The dogs are under the foster care of the Corrections Bureau and once they pass and are awarded the AKC Canine Good Citizen Award/Certificate, they are returned to Animal Services and the Humane Society for adoption.|
|CERT||CERT stands for Correctional Emergency Response Team. This team consists of highly trained Corrections Deputies who respond to crisis or dangerous situations within the Corrections environment.|
|Check/Credit Card/Counterfeiting Awareness||Learn about current counterfeiting trends and how to protect your business from this criminal activity.|
|Child Fingerprinting||Have your children fingerprinted on a specially designed card that you can take home and fill out with your child's information. This is done by the V.O.I.C.E. members who volunteer their time for LCSO and the community (see V.O.I.C.E. program).|
|Child Safety||Learn about child safety in the home, at school,at the bus stop, and in the community. This program is geared towards youth of any age, parents, or caregivers. |Citizens Academy||Is an interactive program where for 1-day each week for 10-weeks citizen's learn all about the Lee County Sheriff's Office to include law enforcement, investigations, corrections, special operations, administration, and much more. |Construction and Home Improvement Crime||Learn ways to protect yourself from unscrupulous and unlicensed contractors.|
|Convenience Store Business Security Inspection||Crime Prevention Specialists will inspect your convenience store to identify weaknesses in your security and to make security improvement suggestions.|
|Corrections Housing, Programs and Security||Learn about the Corrections Bureau through a PowerPoint presentation.|
|Crime and Older Adults||Seniors are encouraged to explore the topic of crime as it may affect the elderly. The speaker emphasizes basic crime prevention and personal safety.|
|Crime Prevention Public Awareness||Explore public perceptions and misconceptions regarding crime in our area with a focus on public awareness and safety.|
|Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design||Our Crime Prevention Specialists are certified to inspect building site plans prior to construction with an eye to identifying ways to prevent or reduce crime. We also look at sites post construction to find ways to improve safety and security as it relates to crime.|
|Crime Stoppers||Citizens are encouraged to report crime-related information to law enforcement through this program that allows you to remain annonymous and possibly collect a reward.|
|Do the Right Thing||Not only children, but teachers, families and the community may participate in this program which encourages children grades K-12 to help the community by performing positive acts. Positive behavior by children is reinforced through recognition and rewards. Anyone may nominate a child whose positive actions are above and beyond.
