A minimum of two weeks notice is usually necessary to acquire a speaker. Please note that this does not guarantee a speaker will be available.
A wide variety of presentations are offered by our Florida Crime Prevention Practitioners. These presentations vary in length and are a free service of the Lee County Sheriff's Office. These presentations provide information and tips to promote safety and help prevent crime.
It may also be possible to arrange other Lee County Sheriff's Office speakers including our representatives from various volunteer crime prevention programs, such as Crime Stoppers, V.O.I.C.E. (Volunteer Observers Impacting Community Effort), or specific areas of the Lee County Sheriff's Office like the K-9 Unit, Marine Unit, Aviation, and more.

We also coordinate or partner with, provide information from, and refer to many LCSO or community safety and crime prevention programs that require some participation on your part. In addition we offer volunteer and donation opportunities in several crime prevention and crime education programs. You decide based on the program or programs that can help you and on your ability to participate.

|Financial Fraud||Explore a variety of examples of financial fraud and learn how to avoid becoming a victim.|
|Forensics/CSI||Learn more about how our Forensics and Crime Scene Units do their job.|

|Gang Awareness and Training Education (G.A.T.E.)||Educates elementary and middle school aged youth about the dangers of gang involvement.|
|Gun Safety for Adults||The Lee County Gun Range, operated by the Lee County Sheriff's Office, is open to the public two days per week (Subject to change due to Law Enforcement training). Prior to using the range, you must complete a written application, complete a safety orientation, and have a photo taken for a Gun Range I.D. card. You are required to show this I.D. prior to using the range.|
|Gun Safety for Children||Make your home and children safer by learning about gun safety for children.|
|Headquarters||Gain a better understanding about the Lee County Sheriff's Office and its operations at the headquarters.|
|House of Worship Safety and Security||This program is designed to give leaders of houses of worship and/or their security personnel the tools needed to create a safe and secure environment for their staff and parishioners. Crime Prevention Specialists will identify and assess the vulnerability of the various targets in a house of worship and suggest ways to reduce the vulnerability of those targets.|
|Hurricane Preparedness||The Lee County Sheriff's Office participates in these seminars to inform the public how the agency will partner with other agencies in the event of a hurricane and provide emergency service.|

|Identity Theft (Medical)||Learn about medical ID theft, who is committing these crimes, how your medical identity is stolen, the red flags to look for, how to guard against becoming a victim, and what to do if you become a victim.|
|Identity Theft of Children||Learn how to protect your children's identity.|
|Identity Theft of the Deceased||Learn the steps to take when a loved one passes away t protect their identity and their estate.|
|Internet Safety||Adults or children will learn about safely navigating the internet, creating strong passwords, and about social media safety.|
|K-9 Unit (Canine)||Learn about our four-footed law enforcement partners.|
|Marine Unit||Learn about boating and water safety from members of our Marine Unit.|
|McGruff||McGruff the Crime Dog will visit your event to promote safety and security.|

|Operation Medicine Cabinet||If you have unwanted prescription and non-prescription medications you would like to dispose of them, each Lee County Sheriff's Office District has a Disposal Drop Box you may use. Depending on where you live you can go to the closest District or Headquarters and easily dispose of these medications.|

|Project Livesaver||This program is designed for citizens with limited abilities who may wander (i.e. Alzheimer's disease, Dementia, Autism, Prader Willi, etc). Caregivers may register and use a special tracking bracelet for the special needs citizen to wear. Download Brochure (PDF). Spanish Version - Download (PDF)|
|R.A.D.I.C.A.L.||Reducing Abuse of Drugs by Interrupting Crime through Awareness Training. This program raises awareness of high school youth about crime, drugs, gangs, and violence. Educating them on issues such as dating violence, gang prevention, drug awareness, school violence, leadership, anti-bullying, internet safety, driving impaired, and the basic affects of criminal activity on future jobs and education prospects.|
|Realtor Safety||Learn how to create a safe work environment when you frequently meet with strangers in private or in unfamiliar locations. Learn how to recognize the red flags of a potentially dangerous situation and what to do if you encounter one.|
|Residential Security||Learn ways to make your home safer and more secure and less of a target for thieves. Download Brochure (PDF)|
|Residential Security Survey||Specially trained crime prevention specialists visit your home to identify weaknesses in security and make recommendations on how to "target harden" your home.|
|Responding to Drug Induced Behavior (Workplace Violence)||Learn the ways drug use affects the workplace and what can be done to help those suffering from addiction.|
|Self Defense Awareness and Familiarization Exchange||This interactive program teaches women and girls as young as 13 the basics of physical self defense and ways to reduce threat risks. It includes a video overview, handouts, and an introduction to physical self defense. We have no upper age limit.|
|Senior's Driving Safely - Safe Mobility||This program promotes safe driving and crash prevention strategies as well as early warning signs associated with at-risk drivers of all ages. As part of the Safe Mobility for Life State Coalition we want to increase the number of drivers who are proactive about staying safe on the road through a variety of programs such as this program, Senior's Driving Safely and CarFit.|
|Sheriff's Youth Activities League||The Lee County Sheriff's Youth Activities League provides fun and safe sports and activities for Lee County Youth. The program promotes physical fitness, healthy self-esteem, learning new skills, and social interaction in a positive setting.|
|Shoplifting/Shrinkage Prevention||We help businesses explore the problem of shoplifting/shrinkage and how to take positive steps to prevent these crimes from happening.|
|Static Display||Various units within the Lee County Sheriff's Office set up to educate the public on their role within the Sheriff's Office.|
|Stranger Danger||This topic helps parents, educators, and children recognize circumstances pose a danger. It is adapted to the particular age group of the audience.|
|Student Crime Stoppers||Students are encouraged to help solve crimes by annonymously reporting crime tips and possibly receiving a reward.|
|SWAT||Learn about our specially-trained members who are called in the event of a serious crises such as suicide attempts or hostage situations.|
|Telemarketing Fraud||Citizens receive information illustrating the techniques unscrupulous telemarketers use to steal money, personal information, and credit card numbers.|
|Theft Prevention - Nursing Care & Assisted Living Facilities||This program provides information to staff, residents, and family members about how to protect personal information and property in care facilities.|
|Traffic||Members explain traffic laws the techniques used to control traffic and how they encourage compliance with traffic laws.|
|Volunteer Observers Impacting Community Efforts||Citizen volunteers who are specially trained and dedicated help the Sheriff's Office in a variety of tasks.|
