Mike Scott wurde nach 18 Jahren im oertlichen Polizeidienst im Jahr 2004 zum Sheriff gewählt. Sheriff Scott hat einen Bachelor´s Degree von der University of South Florida in Tampa und einen Master´s Degree in Geschaeftsfuehrung von der IMPAC University in Punta Gorda, Florida.
