Request Victim of Violent Crime Assistance

LCSO victim advocates provide numerous services to victims of domestic violence and violent crimes. Advocates regularly assist victims in any type of crime scene and/or situation. Upon receiving all domestic violence and violent crimes reports, advocates will contact victims by phone, letter or home visits and refer victims to various local organizations that offer grief counseling, group therapy, assistance with filing legal documents, emergency food supply and financial assistance.

Victim advocates also provide transportation to and from court and assist victims in court procedures. For victims of stalking and domestic violence, advocates offer free 911 cell phones for their safety and security. Two LCSO advocates are bilingual in Spanish and often assist our Hispanic victims as well as our deputies and detectives. If certain criteria are met, advocates can be called out to assist in filing for an “emergency” injunction for protection on evenings and weekends.

Victim advocates are available from7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday by appointment and can be reached at (239) -477-1050 or at (239) 477-1678 (Línea de Asistencia de Victimas en Español). You also may email the victim advocates (Tambíen puede enviar un correo electrónico) at victimadvocates@sheriffleefl.org
